A new Chapter
for Weiße Gasse
in Dresden

Right in the historic old town of Dresden, in the history-laden Weiße Gasse, a new chapter begins for a well-known restaurant. The former Förster's has become Das Esszimmer – a place that preserves the familiar while setting new accents at the same time.

Following its takeover by a new owner, the restaurant has been conceptually redesigned. The kitchen combines artisanal standards with carefully selected dishes and influences from Austria and Switzerland. The aim is not to reinvent tradition, but to bring it to the plate in a contemporary way with a distinct signature.

Das Esszimmer stands for good food, personal hospitality and an atmosphere where you're happy to linger a little longer – in a special place right in the heart of Dresden.

Seit über zwanzig Jahren steht Alex Wagner für echtes Kochhandwerk, Leidenschaft und ein feines Gespür für Geschmack. Seine Erfahrung sammelte er in unterschiedlichen Restaurants und Küchen, die seinen eigenen Stil über die Jahre geprägt haben. Heute verbindet er handwerkliche Präzision mit hochwertigen Zutaten und einer modernen Interpretation klassischer Küche.

We were at das Esszimmer in the Weiße Gasse in Dresden and were thoroughly impressed! The food was super delicious, beautifully presented and the atmosphere very cosy. The service was also friendly and attentive – you just feel completely at ease.

We popped in quite spontaneously as we were walking past and are absolutely thrilled. The potato soup we ordered was simply outstanding! We had to think for a moment about the white wine....we would have loved to drink our way through the entire menu because everything sounded so good. Absolute recommendation, we'll gladly come back!

We were there last week and treated ourselves to the Wiener Schnitzel and the dining room burger.
Both were excellent. Very nice staff and good service! We will definitely be back.

We were able to enjoy an outstanding tartare and the delicious Königsberger Klopse, and it was an absolute treat for the palate! The presentation was also particularly impressive!
